Mr. P.E.P Deraniyagala was discovered ruins about homosepionbalangodesis in bulathwatta, because of that history of pelmadulla divisional secretariat was originated to pre historic era. In the history, there were more numbers of huts installed in this area to rest for carters. that is reason to made a name to this area. The temple on denawaka and kehelbaddala river basin was called Dronawakka Viharaya in king I Wijayabahu period. The nampotha (the book written in Kandy period) was mentioned about this temple in a 203rd temple as a Denawaka viharaya. This temple is called Aramunapola viharaya in present. The monks who arrive from Arammanadesh in Myanmar was mattered to name this temple as a Aramunapola viharaya.
